A nation of shopkeepers. After a conversation with a news editor the topic Brexit came up. Further thoughts and tutor guidance, I then started visiting local shops and managed to record a few shopkeepers. This has been a test of faith as this usually as from past experience, has a good level of refuses. I plan to have 10 images at the end of it.
College Trip to Manchester

We walked through the city center on a rainy Wednesday in late November. Visited the real camera shop and many in the group purchased used books on photography. The Return to Manchester exhibition by Martin Parr was the main show. Went with three others including tutor John for lunch in the Chinese quarter. The idea was to show a glimpse of a few hours with the group, via smart phone.
Reflections
As part of the Style and substance brief I visited some of the places in relation to childhood. I was interested in the why I felt warmly about these places of the past? I shot them on digital 35mm over two days in early October. One was a clear and sunny the other had some stagnate cloud, though bright. The “Moorend” image above shows the entrance to the high school. The 1970s building with recent words Respect clearly visible. Otherwise it seemed unchanged to the day I left in 1991. The ideas of place and open correctness seemed more apparent, then the school days where you had to respect your teachers overall.
